  • Short inside RFCS-14 plug

I have been having problems with my Miller Syncrowave 180 lately. I just testing the continuity on pins C, D, & E. The pot checks out, but wire C has a short, and looking into the plug I can see some severed insulation on the wire. I took the clamp off, but cannot figure out how to remove the pin or get inside the plug to correct the problem.

E is the wiper, so will vary with C, and will vary with D. C to D is constant. Unlikely you have a short, just looks that way if your not moving the pedal. Anyhow, merely stick your plug into the machine . remove the little relief screws, and twist off the strain relief end. Easy....

If anything C is OPEN, not shorted, What I would do is find the break and resolder the wire to the pin. Your not going to get the pin out without a tool, nor are you going to recrimp it without another $$ tool
