Tungsten grinder for Dynasty

You are correct. As far I as I know thoriated is the only tungsten that releases radioactive dust when ground. Please correct me if I am wrong. I do use thoriated on DSCP WITH STEEL, but only with chem sharp. I do not grind it.

I believe you mean thoriated tungsten, I personally stay away from it.

I usually use a chemical sharpener like "Chem-Sharp". A diamond grit grinding wheel on a drill also works well. Be sure to grind your in a longitudinal fashion-NOT IN A LATITUDE ORIENTATION!!! Angle your tungsten with the tip pointed toward the grinding surface.
Whatever you do, dedicate your grind wheel or belt to tungsten only. If not, you'll be sorry. Your welds will be dirty and contaminated. Your owner's manual should have a pictorial or schematic representation of how to grind the tungsten. Get it to a sharp point, then blunt it slightly. Anytime you grind tungsten radioactive dust is released into the atmosphere. Grind out of doors with caution!

I just a bought a Dynasty 200 DX, Spectrum 625 plasma cutter and an Optrel Satellite from BRwelder.com. Can't wait!

I probably will not have room for a dedicated grinder for tungsten, any recommendations for a small wheel to put in a drill?

I'm assuming a very fine aluminum oxide wheel, is that correct?

What about the chem sharp pros and cons?

I also ordered some 1/16th and 3/32nd ceriated and 3/32nd lanthanated tungsten since the latest info on these seems to say that they last a bit longer then Th and are a bit healthier since non-radioactive.

Opinions?

One more - does anyone ever use below 1/16" tungsten and why or why not?
