There was only three wires.
I'm guessing it was 480v when I got it.
I put a 230v plug on it.
H80N,
Thats the part in the manual I read.
Makes sense that if I have the plug wired on that the fuse shut off all the power.
I'll check and get back to you.
Thanks.

You might check what color wires connect to where INSIDE the welder...
Willie might be on to something regarding the red wire..Last edited by H80N; 04-06-2014, 03:15 PM..

Sorry to confuse.
This is single phase machine, designed to run on 230v or 480v.
This machine came with a 480 plug.
I took it off and put a 6-50p on it, same wiring as the other plug.
Which, since no one has corrected me, I assume is wired correctly. (?????)
So, tomorrow I will check the continuity of the 0.5amp fuse.
According to the manual, can be the remote cause of no action on the machine.
Thanks,

AK- you never mentioned if you actually switched the wires INSIDE the machie
Remove the sleeving from both leads.
6. Connect the large lead to push-on terminal
labeled “3” on the adjacent PC board.
7. Connect the small lead to terminal 15 of the line
switch.
8. Reposition insulation to cover line switch.
9. Re-install wraparound.
10. Move the lock pin to allow switch movement for 230 V selection only.Ed Conley

Sorry, double post, but.... I hope you'll forgive me.
Ed,
I had so forgotten about the relinking.
So used to auto links.
I printed your post off and ran over to the shop (real quick)
Took maybe 30mins to do it.
But, she fired right up, after a few bugs worked out, I took her outside hooked up my leads, and made a couple welds.

Thanks H80N, and a Big Thanks Ed....
That arc on that buzzard is pretty smooth for 7018, but a little soft for 6010....
I'm not sure if I'm gonna get a tig torch etc, or just sell it....
We'll, since me being a 7018 man, fits me....
