My question.Is there an adaptive cord for this unit. It came with a European plug and I can't find a receptacle with the same configuration in a 20-30 amp 220-250 volt rating.

GOOD QUESTION!

It is the plug that looks like a 120 volt standard receptacle that has on prong turned sideways? See attached. If so, Then this is a standard USA plug rated at 125 volts and 20 amps. You can find it at most all commercial electrical supply houses. Next time you are in a commercial building look at the wall outlets on 125 volts. You'll recognize the configuration. DO NOT CONFUSE IT THE THE 250 AMP 220 VOLT PLUGS THAT LOOK SIMILAR. THEY WILL NOT MATE UP. If you cannot find, then let me know and I'll mail you one. [email protected]

Here's a better representation. I am not much of an artist. The plug's outside diameter is pretty close to actual size. The rest is the best I can do from memory. Take and look and let me know what you think. As I said if you cannot find, then email and I will pick one up and send it to you. What type of plug would you want on the other end of the pig tail? I can make you a pig tail from #10 So cable with the receptacle that your welder will plug into on one end and whatever type plug you need on the other end. The last one I made accepted your type welder plug and the other end was a 230 volt 30 amp twist lock.

MILLER DOES MAKE A 230 VOLT CORD THAT IS A FIELD INSTALL FOR YOU MACHINE, BUT I THINK YOU ALREADY HAVE 8 OR 10 GUAGE WIRE ON YOUR EXISTING CORD. IF SO, THEN RUNNING ON 230 VOLTS SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM WITH THE PIGTAIL.

Thanks Hawk for the help. I've just done that but the stick doesn't work. I've hooked it up to a 30amp 220 service and when I touch the workpiece nothing happens,the ready light starts to flash.The tig does work,it has lift arc start but when I lift it off the workpiece after I've been using it for a bit I have to shut the unit off in order to start tigging again. What am I doing wrong?

Does this unit have a tig/stick selector switch? If so, do you have it set for stick? As for restarting after tigging a while: Are you exceeding the unit's duty cycle and not giving it enough time to cool before welding again?

Your unit has a process selector touch pad. It has to be set for the stick mode. Have you done this? I bet if your tig torch is pluged into your unit, then it automatically senses it and reverts to the tig mode. Unplug your tig torch and set the process switch for stick and see what happens. Let me know.

Hello Hawk thanks for your response. I do have it at the right setting and I only have the stick plugged in but nothing happens. Is there a way to reset the unit? I'm thinking that maybe I entered the wrong trigger methods. Is this possible?

According to the manual a flashing light indicates the unit is not ready or there is a functional error. Yes it is possible the trigger methods are not correctly entered. The standard trigger should be used with stick ( I think this is correct). Check out this attached ZIP file. This is how to reset to factory defaults.

Thanks Hawk for all your help. The manual that I have has different set-up procedures. I'll try these and hopefully that'll solve my problem. Thank you for your time. I'll keep you posted.

The set up procedures I sent you are from the newest Miller serial number machines. Give them a shot. Anybody at Miller will tell that catalog and other publications change day to day and don't always make the print. Let me know.
