all copper 300A welding ground clamp

Anyone have a good place to buy an ALL copper 300A ground clamp?

Checked eBay, Amazon some LWS and cannot find one. Plenty of brass or partial copper cast clamps

Trying to replace the stock clamp on 252.

    Thanks

I thought I saw something in TWECO literature about "high copper". Not all copper.
        Miller stuff:
        Dialarc 250 (1974)
        Syncrowave 250 (1992)
        Spot welder (Dayton badged)

Haha, unspecified "copper alloy" sounds like salesman-speak to me. All the brass ones are "copper alloy". I think they are good ground clamps but the copper alloy is a salesman doubletalk.---Meltedmetal

High Copper alloy could even be Silicon Bronze, which isn't much better conductor than steel. Very high Copper content but it sucks. Some brasses are a lot better.

Pure copper is not easily cast and has undesirable mechanical properties..
                (crack prone)

so of course it would be alloyed with another metal like tin to produce a high copper alloy or bronze.. mechanically very tough and an excellent conductor
They used to make cannons out of bronze...

do not believe that they are a brass which is typically a copper/zinc alloy with some other metals as well..

                Here is some background

my guess is that TWECO chose a suitable alloy from a mechanical and conductivity standpoint... they have been in business for a long time and their clamps perform very well...
I have several of them and like them a lot..

Would I buy them again..??................. YUP ... in a Heartbeat...

I'm not dissing Tweco products, I think they are fine. What I'm saying is that not everything a salesman or sales team comes up with is really 100% relative. We have cast some copper in the past as anode hooks and I know it presents some challenges but I'm sure that if Tweco wanted 100% copper ground clamps they or someone else would make them. There are likely many good reasons that they use the alloy that they use but the copper reference imho is just salesmanship and doesn't really mean what the customer may be led to believe. You may infer that I don't always trust salesmen.---Meltedmetal

                    No Argument...

sales people always seem feel a need to exagerate... even if what they already have is excellent..
                    go figure..

Aronson wrote a lot about grounds. He had a very useful weld on mercury conductor for his positioners. Contact area makes more impact than conductor material.

I have an old vice grip with copper pipe jaw and sweated on cable in addition to standard clamp.

An all (100%) copper clamp would be a good conductor but it wouldn't be much of a clamp.

FWIW... I have used bronze tools, wrenches, pliers, hammers.. etc..

while working on radars where nonmagnetic tools were required because the magnetic field from the magnetron would rip steel tools from your hands...

the bronze tools are plenty tough..
