how long do welders last in cycles and hours?

I know that there is no definative answer but I am possibly going to buy a syncrowave 350LX that according to its counter, has 643 hours and 71,600 cycles. I want to make sure there is plenty of juice left in it.

HI TOM...........If they know the hours on the machine why are they counting cycles..............hmmmmmm...........my guess is that this is in a production area and the cycles are the times it has been turned on/off................Not to worry they are designed to last a little longer than that................You are good to go......Rock..

he says he bought a bunch of them used from a company and hes going by the counter on the machine.
I am assuming it is accurated being that it is a design built into the machine though.
