I have a Spectrum 701 with 2 PC boards that bad. I wanted to switch the torch to an old Spectrum 500 that still works because we have a lot of consumables for the ICE 50. Can take out the quick connect from the 701 and fit it to the 500? It looks like the ICE 50 has 1 more wire than the APT 5000 that is on the 500. I searched for wiring diagrams/spec sheet on the torch, but couldn't find anything. I know they sell an adapter but if I can swap them out with out buying anything else it would be worth a try. The extra wire was hooked up to a contact in the 701 and I'm not sure where it would go on the 500 machine. Any advise or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed the torch I have is different from the manual. Ours has the safety trigger (you have to lift then press). Anyone know if there are different makes of the ICE 50? You will have to make sure of torch compatability as to whether "HF" or "Pilot Arc" will have to be checked...
That could be a showstopper...

If someone knows if this is possible, please let me know. the serial #on the Spec. 500 is KE572456. The torch came with a Spec. 701 machine serial# KK255975. Its a plugin type torch. Is it worth trying to change over? If not I guess I just have a ICE 50 torch for saleOriginally posted by H80N View Post
