  • Miller won't take my money

I do not like negative people, especially if I am trying to give them my money.

I recently joined this board for info regarding my current Miller equipment, Syncrowave,Trailblazer, 175,250 Mig, so you can tell I am all Miller. Everyone on the board was extremely helpful.

Five days ago I e-mailed my local dealer for a quote on a 200 Dynasty DX, 12RC Suitcase and Trailblazer 301G. Not hearing from them I called today and stated I had e-mailed them to purchase new eqipment. The salesman sounded as if he was doing me a favor and put me on hold for at least 10 minutes(for true). I hung up.
My Miller dealer in Phoenix was excellent.Guess I'll have to have him drop ship it here.
Man, business must be too good here.
Being an automotive business owner for the past 15 yrs, I know Miller can't control it's dealers. Lucky I am such a "Miller" fan.

    MILLER IS THE BEST

P.S. I am also an active NHRA Pro-Stock Bike Racer and displayed my Miller equipment at races in NHRA Division 7

well, nhra is all for lincoln.....you mention miller to the nhra people and they will laugh you out the building.....alot of people from miller have been rude to me and so have lincoln i guess it's a policy for every welding supplier to be a rude **** to their customers....I try to be as nice as possible to every supplier guy and everyone has a smart comment about which welder or idea you have next and also when you call them that's when they are the most rudest and that doesn't make a difference miller or lincoln but they only want to talk good to you when they are there to make a buck from you I learn from experience just like most people out in this sick world today
            whoomp there it is

Speaking of sick worlds, could you not use the 's---' word in future post? My young son reads this board and I wish you would consider that in future posts.

              Thanks....

I regret my original post caused someone to respond using fowl language.

Isn't anything clean for our kids to read anymore????

Jweld, there's no need to remove your post. You didn't do anything wrong. Did you ever get your problem solved? Something similar happened to me, so I bought my machine through the internet. Take care.....

Ive been building trailers and repair welding for 23 years.Ive owned both Lincoln & Miller. It was time to update this year and approached my regular supplier about a new gas drive,A small mig for tacking,A 200 amp machine for the shop,A small tig and a plasma cutter.I had decided to go with all Miller except the plasma cutter. When I asked my distributor for a price he laughed and said he dosent make enough on machines and would rather sell gas.I have another supplier I use now and then only because hes a little out of the way.I took a ride and told him what I needed and he figured it up on the spot with in 2 weeks everything was here and there was a spare parts kit for each machine he put together at no charge, took care of all the warranty papers, delivered everything put together and run to make sure it worked right, threw in a bottle of gas and some rod and 35lb rolls of wire at no charge.I told him when I asked for a price I wanted a fair price abd didnt want him to feel he wasnt making anything on a machine, he came in at 1700.00 dollars less than my regular supplier and insisted he got his usual mark up.My regular supplier called me back with a price on the new machines AFTER I had received everything.Needless to say from now on I buy everything except the gas from they guy that appreciated the sale,Id buy my gas from him too but its a little too far to go if I need it in a hurry.

                        Oliver's dealer

Sounds that finally you found one that made you happy. If you weren't so far away I would make my next Miller purchase there. I have a Miller dealer about 49 miles away. He did me right(I think) when it comes to selling me my Syncrowave 180(got it about 2 months ago). But he has dissapointed me with his personal attitude.
Way before the purchase(which I didn't even have in mind at the time), I had invited him to join me in going deer hunting on my property. All I was looking for was a hunting partner. He belongs to a hunt club, and pays good money to hunt there. I told him that he could still go there, and that I didn't expect anything($) from him. To make a long story short, I guess, that offering a free place to hunt must have insulted his pocketbook, because he snobbed me off. Has offered to stop by at least on three ocasions to go scouting, and hasn't shown up. Bottom line, maybe I need to get me a job with the "Blue" company.

Before I bought any of the equipment I mentioned the only thing I bought from this distributor was wire and rod when I was working near his place. He sent out a post card for the road show and had the whole thing catered and even wrote bring a few friends on the post card.I even brought a friend that has no idea what a welder does and it was no problem.I have realized a couple things since I made the machine purchaces. The first thing is not all suppliers are authorized dealers. The ones that are can get original equipment replacement parts and most can fix your machine at their store, not send it out for a month and get it back and its not fixed. The distributors that belong to buyers groups dont carry parts and cant do much about repairs and to an extent you can get the same service from them you can get at a department store.Ive noticed an authorized distributor will go out of his way to make sure your equipment is working for you and its what you expected.I suppose the difference is when your spending a sizeable amount of money you would be better off checking on your dealer and give the guy that actually appreciates your business the money.
