Usually when people compare a transformer based tig machine with an inverter based model their chief quandry is over the cost differential. If cost is not a problem, then buy a dynasty 300 dx. The maxstar is a DC only machine. While AL can be welded with both DCEP and DCEN (if you know when and where to implement each) your best and easiest results will be made with an AC inverter machine such as the Dynasty. No question which I would be choosing.
I OWN A VERY LITTLE USED NEW SYNCHROWAVE 250 AND AM NOW GETTING MY SHOP SET UP FOR FAB WELDING. ARE THE NEW INVERTERS WORTH THE INVESTMENT/CHANGE?? MONEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I SHALL BE WORKING ON DRAG BIKE FRAM AND ALUMINUM FABRICATIONS.
