    Mozark6,
Let's start with a few questions for you.

-What voltage and amperage do you have available for the machine?
-How portable do you really need it?
-How thick are the beams that you need to weld to?
-Are you willing to remove paint, rust, grease and/or plating from the work piece?
-Do you know that MIG welding needs shielding gas and flux core doesn't?
-How much have you budgeted for the machine?

Aluminum welding like all welding takes some money and alot of practice to get good at it. Today aluminum isn't that much harder to weld than steel.(with the right set up)
Welding is hot and it's the coolest job you'll ever have.

WT, THANKS FOR THE REPLY,DON'T HAVE 220 POWER IN THE SHOP BUT WILL HAVE SOON.BEAMS I WOULD ATTACH TO RUN FROM 1/8 TO 1/2 INCH. BUT MOST OF THE TIME THE WELDER WILL BE IN THE SHOP.I UNDERSTAND THAT PREP WORK CLEAN MATERIAL MAKES BETTER WELDS SO THATS OK. AND I UNDERSTAND FLUX CORE- GAS AND THAT GAS MAKES NICER WELDS ? .IS ONE HARDER TO RUN THAN THE OTHER. LIKE TO STAY UNDER 1000.00. THIS SITE IS GREAT I HAVE LEARNED ALOT, BUT THINKING MAYBE A 225THUNDERBOLT, LIKE I SAY MOST OF THE WORK WILL BE HERE AT THE FARM.ALL MY BUDDIES SAY GO MIG

        mo-

You may want the 220 machines of either the MM175 or MM210. They will glue anything you really need to at the farm if the metal is clean or has been cleaned. The stick is nice to patch up some rusty stuff but a few minutes with a grinder can get rid of the rust!
