  • Power cord on 180SD

    Hi Guys,

I just ordered a Miller 180SD and I need to get power run into my garage for it. Does anyone know what 208V power plug style I should have installed, what plug is on the welder when I get it? Will 208V 50a be enough to have installed?

    Thanks,

    Mark

JONESY.......WELCOME ABOARD......CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PURCHASE......THE SYNCRO-WAVE 180 DOES NOT HAVE A MALE PLUG ON THE END OF THE CORD WHEN YOU GET IT..... THERE FOR THE PLUG CONFIGURATION IS YOUR CHOICE BOTH THE MALE AND THE FEMALE....... AT 208 VOLTS THE RUNNING DRAW IS 54 AMPS........ HOWEVER WITH INRUSH WERE RECOMENDING A 80 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER.......... BE SAFE....GOOD QUESTION.......................................ROC K.........

Are you connecting between two legs of a three phase supply? That is the typical 208V. If this is a house garage, you probably only have single-phase power, and usually 220-240 volts. However, the plug can be the same.
