Bernard q 400 question

I have a question about the Bernard q400. I recently order it for my miller suitcase 12vs as I was reading more into the gun it says that it's setup for .45 wire my question is will the q400 run .35 wire(which I just bought a 44 pound spool of .35 wire

With it being a 400 and set up for .045 wire means that the liner is probably an .045 - 1/16 and the contact tip is an .045. The liner and the tip is big enough to run .035 through, but you might want to get .035 contact tips. Although I have used .045 tips to run .035 wire many times with no problem.

Just curious, if you are going to be running a small wire like .035 why didn't you get a 300 instead??

I had bernard with 5/64 liner. Ran everything from. 045 to 072
