Our company builds high quality custom furniture, architectural metalwork, performs general fabrication, and also offers design development. Machining experience a plus
    Wood-working experience a plus

If you are a great (fast, accurate) TIG welder with an interest in learning fabrication and machining skills, we would be willing to train the right person.

As a start-up fabrication facility, the work environment is fast-paced and constantly changing to accommodate our clients. We have a small crew working hard to produce quality product. Having a good attitude and good communication skills are essential. This is a Full-Time Position. Compensation dependent on experience ($18-$22+). We are located in Providence RI. The cost of living would be higher in RI.
You get 18-22 an hour as a Mc D assistant manager in NJ.
With those skills the offer, to me, looks low. Just my .02

Rhode Island is definitely it's own little world when it comes to supply and demand. I have found workers here to be timid commuters. It's not unusual to meet someone who has not left the state. That said, my rates are not far off at all. What an individual may think they are worth personally, does not dictate the market value.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts Welders average pay at $17/hr.
Fabricators come in around $13/hr, and machinists average $20/hr.

For localized data, Salary.com puts welders in Providence, RI area (2-15yrs experience) between $19-25/hr. Machinists $19-20/hr

It might not be that bad of a job for someone, probably a nice environment, cleaner than some. Someone that was fairly proficient could have easy time of it. I was in a fab shop a while back that made some boat parts, rails etc, all little bitty tig, the pay wasn't great but these guys didn't need to kill themselves either. Doesnt sound all bad considering I can barely walk or bend over this morning after climbing around like a monkey most of the week, ding a finder first thing adds even more fun to it, throw in some heavy pipe wrenches and hammers, try a couple things on a major problem that don't work, got to face the same thing in the morning, twirling a tig on some furniture doesnt sound all that bad..

I have worked with some handicap-able people and that would be an ideal job for them. One was deaf, and the other wheelchairbound. They both trained up wonderfully and moved on. I am currently working with a single mom, and she could do that work.

Dr. Pipe is a little off.

Drpipe needs to be shown the door.

If he's lucky, it won't hit him in the butt on the way out.
