I work in a factory and have been given the task of measuring the amount of wire we are using in our hand welding stations. In the department in question, we have Delta and Invision power supplies and feeders. We do have Axcess and Auto axcess in other areas and I can use the PDA to get the desired data on those. We run .052 boxes of wire in all the stations. There are 50 units to test. If we were using spools, I could weigh them. But we use big boxes of wire so this is not feasible. Do any of you know of a tool that can be attached to the feeder or inline some how to measure how many inches are used for given welds? I have a formula to convert feet to pounds - I just need to get that number first.

they use them in hardware and electrical supply stores, so they cannot be very expensive..
