Totally old thread. LOL. My deal of the year was finding 6AL-4V titanium tig rod for $10/lb.

I have used 10 33lb spools now and not one single problem ever with the wire.

Well Bob, if you used it and say it is good I'll take your word for it. You are one of the masters.
Having looked into it in the past I found that there are very few companies that draw wire, and so the wire itself is likely from the same batches that form the welding wire of the larger companies. I tend to avoid off brand wire for a few reasons though. Every now and again I have to provide documentation for my welding consumables (MSDS as well as alloy, etc) and I find it is easier to get/keep it from Lincoln/Hobart/ et al. If I am missing it I usually have it in another box or can go to my LWS and grab it. Another reason is that most of the rebadged stuff I have seen is not precision wound. It is not a big deal, but I have had a couple of spools that were not and I had trouble with overruns and jerky feeding. I like to remove every area that has become problematic so that I have to fight things as little as possible. Since welding wire is not a huge expense I try to buy the best I can as economically as I can buy it.

I have used about >3 lbs of it over the last week, it feeds very nice, puddles great, and looks excellent.

Clearly it is a mistake, they sell the .035 for $77.72. But hey get it if you can.
