  • millermatic 130 feed problems wire feeds at 0 on control

    millermatic 130 wire feed problems wire feeds at 0 on control . should the wire feed out when pot is at 0? . pot still controls speed but it seems to be too fast,
    also welder does not penetrate very well even with setting on highest

          does pretty good on sheetmetal do you know if wire should feed at 0 i do not think it did when i first got it

              is there any certain component that controls the feed on the circuit board.

                The wire drive motor in the Millermatic 130 runs right off the weld output, the little board does not control the speed. If the unit has the proper weld output and the rheostat is good but the wire runs to fast the only thing it could be is the drive motor itself.

                  The 130 is a good 023 and pushing the limits on 030" wire size machine. 035 will be pretty much a rope looking weld with very little penatration.

                  Yes it runs on arc voltage so unless you have the machines voltage turned to the lowest setting, the rollers will still move.
