  • Bobcat vs Trailblazer

Wanna get a diesel engine drive and I know there has been a lot of discussion on these two machines. Just want one that will last a long time... Any comment appreciated... Thanks

          +1 on the Trailblazer...

          there is no comparison...

lots of old threads on the subject... gas or diesel... the Trailblazer is much more machine for the money..

            TB302 vs Bobcat

For the price difference i would shoot for the PRO300, i had my LWS quote me prices on TB302D TB Airpack and the PRO300 and the pro was not a lot much more then the TB airpack.

I just sold my TB302 and bought a used PRO300............. all i can say is that the TB was a good welder, the PRO is nicer yet..... the low speed diesel is awesome, i even put the idle parts on it and its SOOOOOOO quiet mama never complains now, she use to hate my SA200's running 3/16 rod....

            just my $.02

I'd kinda shoot for a bigger machine as well. The little machines like the Bobcat/trailblazer are SUPER loud with the Diesel plus they run at 3600 rpm and need consistant maintainance.

Are the gas models SUPER loud as well?

                  Bobcat is loud

I had a Bobcat,I really liked it. They actually weld pretty good, better than I expected.I liked the light weight and being air cooled, you didn't have to contend with belts, hoses or a radiator. It worked well for everything I needed and used it for, like facility hookups, wellheads, pipe welding,(not pipeline) and any general maintenance. The only complaint was the noise. Mine was an 02 model, the newer ones are quieter, with the motor being totally enclosed. Also you have the whine of the generator.
