Can a 12VS be used with a MIG 252 to extend reach and have second roll ready to go. So are the 2 compatible a 252 & 12VS and if so what do I need to do it?
Thanks
You need the Reach wirefeeder, which is shown on page 24 of the 2012 Miller Catalog.
It will give you what you're looking for I suspect.

Thanks for the reply's I have a 30 A spool gun but would like the economy of the larger rolls. Regarding the reach yes it would do it but I don't have one and I do have 12VS doing nothing. I would like to use [12VS] it just need to know if it can be used and if so how??? I will probably get a XMT at some point but not right now.
I'm unsure whether it would work or not. If the 252 does not sence an arc within 3 seconds, the machine turns the arc off and goes into jog mode. However, the VS feeder also draws power from the 252, unsure if its enough for the 252 not to shut down.
So if you were to jumper "D & "G" on the 252's 10 pin with the VS feeder hooked up and turned on, perhaps you could verify this for us.
