Q. I build and race my own Off Road Race Car. When I built the car originally, I did it all in mild steel tubing. Now I would like to make some improvements and suspension changes using Chromoly tubing. I would also like to be able to do some aluminum work. I'm looking at purchasing a Syncrowave 180SD. Do you think this machine will be suited for chromoly fab work and aluminum, regarding my race car? (Submitted by: Bruce Metzler from Rancho Murieta, CA)
A. The Syncrowave 180SD would be great for your race car work. It has the ability to do all the material you are using and weld up to 3/16 inch. The unit comes complete with torch, foot pedal and regulator. If you are welding a lot of material and find the need for a water cooler, that too may be added at a later date. All you would need is an adapter for the water-cooled torch. The Syncrowave has proven itself for years and I was glad to see it offered in a smaller, more affordable package. If the need arises to do thicker material, the Syncrowave 250 package would be a natural step up.
