  • So my WIFE told me to build a shop!!!!!

So here it is, its 24x40 I am finishing up the outlets as yall are looking. It is a 200amp service and I will have 3 220 circuits and 7 110 circuits. welders are still in my garage because I am still using them but here some pictures. Before yall say anything about the tree, I was not planning on putting my shop in that exact spot but because the grade of where I wanted it would have been alot more concrete. The picture of my bobcat is there just becuase I just repainted it. Thanks for looking and yes my wife told me to build the shop becuase she wanted the garage back.

In seven or eight hundred years, the tree might be big enough to drive through like the Mariposa Grove:

Nice shop (nice wife too). I have always wanted a building like that!

Really nice shop!!! I envy the empty space. In my shops I can barely find the floor most of the time. A little critique of what I might have done differently. If it were possible I'd have taken the chain saw to the tree before I built as I've dropped one on a building in the past(it was not a happy day) Where you are it is probably not an issue but for here(in the North) I'd have looked at stronger rafters for snow load(also had buildings collapse under the weight of wet spring snow and I now try to over-build everything) I would also have put my power distribution up near the top of the wall and dropped down for the outlets, switches etc. You are likely much more disciplined than I am and will not hang anything(especially your ground clamp) on the conduit. In addition in my shop things have been known to hit the walls, occasionally the ceiling and rarely the floor(when I can find it) which might damage the conduit. All in all though a really nice shop and a talented and understanding wife. Who could ask for more.
