Q. I am looking to buy a TIG welder and was interested in the Miller Syncrowave 180SD TIGRunner, but I have a few questions. I would like to know if this welder is sufficient for what I want to use it for. I am a bracket racer and would like to use it for roll cages and chassis work, both mild steel .134 wall and chrome-moly .083 wall? How thick can I weld with this? A. The Syncrowave 180SD will be great for your application. It will handle up to 3/16. Your Chrome-moly won't be a problem for this unit. I put this unit on most of our team transporters for welding at the NASCAR races.
