  • Airco super hornet 400 issues, help!?!?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some information on a new to me, Airco 400 Super Hornet D-11. The serial # is HF 859448. Its a diesel. I got the welder as gift and the only way I can adjust the output is with the throttle. I cant seem to adjust it with the rheostat amperage dial. It seems to run wide open, wherever it is set.
    Any ideas?
    Is there a comparable miller?
I been researching online and there are a lot of 300 super hornets but no 400's.
    Thanks, Rob!

Ill try to get some pictures posted asap...its at a buddy's house.
It has 2 big chrome levers to adjust output. One setting the scale and the other is for fine tuning. It also has a throttle lever that you pull out to speed it up. And there is a receptacle on the front in the lower right corner. Most of the writing is faded off.

          Hornet

Does your machine have a finned oil pan? I think you have a 1975 Miller Trailblazer 4D or 5D with a Perkins 4.154 water cooled four cylinder diesel engine. If it has high frequency, it is a 4D and if not a 5D.weldersales

Would need that long Airco model code to cross reference to Miller
