all welds in similar size, made with the same filler , and same joint design should be the same, no matter the process used to make it. Filler is rated by tensile strength, so an er70XXX will have 70,000 lb tensile strength

High is not as high as really high, but really high is a lot lower than REALLY REALLY HIGH. And far is closer than real far, and there is even more distance to REALLY REALLY FAR. But generally speaking the longer thicker welds are stronger than the shorter thinner welds, the ones with deeper penetration and more filler are stronger than the ones with less penetration and less filler. I hope this(and the previous replies) clears up all the confusion the OP had on this topic.
I knew this country boy in the Army. He always used the word "yonder". I asked him one day after hearing this a thousand times, "how far is yonder" .He said "look out there and see as far as you can see" I said oK. He said anything beyond that is yonder. I guess I should have expected that answer.

In my line of work i belive that TIG (GTAW) is the strongest weld form since it is also the cleanest and does not have a true wrong direction, as far as the strongest weld per say i would say any weld that is a full pin (penatration to both sides) would no doubt be the strongest
I would say any weld made for intended purpose and never fails is the strongest verses a weld made for intended purpose and fails before being put into service is the weaker one.I hope this helps :-/

I can see the moon, is that still less than Yonder? I'm still trying to figure out this "yonder" thing myself. My ole lady uses this word alot. I ask her where something is and she says it's over yonder, I look everywhere I can think of over yonder and still can't find it. I decided to turn the tables on her one day when she asked me where something was that I had no idea where it was. I told her it's over yonder(didn't point or anything), she found it in less than a minute. She seems to know where yonder is but I have no idea where it is, and she can't explain it even though she can find it quickly.
