    Since you are new to welding please heed the advice given several times above. Wear a respirator and weld in a ventilated area. Zinc fumes can be deadly. It's effects are additive and subtle. Not deterring you but just want you to be safe.

    a little off topix;

    Galvinized is toxic - drink a bunch of milk before and after to help rid your body of the toxins.

    Thanks a lot for telling me this... Actualy I read about changing the factory ground clamp for one of brass or bronce, is there any diference? I'll set the wire speed extremly low and I'll buy a .030 roll to give it a try too. Thanks a lot to all of you for the tips and tricks!

It said that it produce 90 amps on 120v and 150 on 240v. I'll wire speed is amps...try to put it on 120v outlet to see if that change something.

    You can weld it

    You probably need a lower amperage setting than the auto set is giving. That is one thing I like about my MM135 and MM252 I can dial in exactly what I want. You might need to lower the amps and experiment with the wire speed.

    I build tree stands out of EMT conduit and I weld it with fluc core with no problem. If I start burning through I turn the machine down and it ususally stops the burn through.

    Wear a half mask NIOSH/MSHA respirator with good cartridges preferably the ones good for most vapors, cause like everyone said the galvinize will make you sick. Also use good ventilation.

    After you weld it clean it up good and spray it with some cold galvinize compound like Zinc It.

    Ok, I'll try manual seting. Like I said, I'm totaly new to this but I like to make some experiments! Lets make some popcorn! And thanks for the tip about galv spray.

    Auto Set

    Autoset is designed for mig wire and gas follow the instructions inside the welder door to my knowledge you have to manually set the welder and wear a respirator as early stated

    Use a push technique.....if u hold the gun in your right hand weld from right to left with your hand/gun laying down to the right about 15 degrees..WEAR aA RESPIRATOR! Grind areas clean if u can and respray with cold galvanizing spray when done..turn the machine down....the push technique and YOUR speed should help with the burn through...

The real deal is that I'm want to make a sandblast both and a dedicated gas oven for powder coating. I want the chasis to be made on 1x1 galv. Tube but auto seting the machine to gage16 it turn to melt the tube. Do you guys know any tric to weld this material? Like I said, I'm new to this, but I really want to learn how to.
