  • What is the correct welder???

Guys I need help to choose a Mig welder that will run 100% duty cycle. The thickness of material to be welded is 6mm lap and T joint. Would you tell me the formula please??

    Thanks,
    Steve.

Sounds like a machine that will do 150 to 190 A at 100% duty cycle?

If this is for steel the miller-matic 211 is a great machine. For Al I would uses the 350P with a push pull gun

You don't get a 100% duty cycle until you get into the bigger industrial units and the smallest 100% job would be the Deltaweld 302. The MM211 is only 35% and the 350P is 60%. What are you welding that you will be sitting behind a mig gun for hours at a time? Most of the time a lower duty cycle will work because you can swap out welded parts, reload the fixtures and so forth and the welder has a time to cool...Bob
