  • pipepro 304 broken!

I started the ol 304 yesterday and went to strike and arc when all of a sudden it started making noise like fire crackers going off and smoke started rolling out from under the hood. the motor is fine but it smells like burnt electrical parts? took the cover off the front and all the wiring harness seems fine but theres black stuff all around the inverter cover. Any ideas?

Ya lost your output board and igbts. common occurance. A relitively simple fix though it'll likely cost you $1500 - 2K at a repair shop.

Thanks buddy! I was expecting to hear it was totally screwed. Is it just a matter of replacing those parts?

Best to take it into a Miller repair center so that they can pull the XMT unit out of it. If you know how to do it, and have done it a zillion times then its simple, takes around 15 minutes. If not then don't try.
