Most gasless wires are dc- which means you switch the work/ground lead onto the + terminal & the gun lead onto the - terminal. The wire box should say dc- or dc+. Use the same tip (as long as it is the right size, ex. .035). Use the same nozzle as it protects the tip & diffuser from spatter. If you have any feeding problems try to keep the gun as straight as possible. If you make the rollers to tight it can crush the wire. I think there should be a door chart on the machine for volt & wire feed settings.

I like to leave the exsisting nozzle on mainly to prevent the electrode from touching the work, but its not nessessary.

You don't really need a nozzle with flux core. The special nozzle just protects the end of the gun from splatter...Bob

First, download the Owner's Manual from the dropdown menu on Hobart's site under 'Servce & Support'. The procedure is clearly explained there. Here is the link to the search page over on Hobart.

  • **HELP** Ran out of gas mix on MIG and need FLUX core fast

I have a Handler 180 and use mix all the time. I need to finish a project and get it done for pickup on Sunday night. I need to convert the Handler 180 to flux core since I can not get gas. Any suggestions? Do I need a different tip and what wires do I need to change inside if it is even an option. Never ran out of gas before and hate to ask such a bad question to all you professionals. Thanks for all help. K.
