    Price Opinion on selling DVI

    I've been looking at all the equipment and the work I've been doing lately and realized that I don't really need my DVI anymore since I do more with the 211 and the TIG.

    This DVI unit is in great condition and was upgraded with the dual cylinder mount and gun/cable holder. I also have the spool gun and a new Miller cover to go with it. It has only had about 4-5 spools run through it, never been warrantied for any reason and I have all the original paperwork.

    What would you guys think is a fair price to ask for it on Craigslist?

      Depends on what you are willing to get for it. You'd take a killing on it since new
      machines are relatively cheap and come with warranties.

      The Dual Cylinder rack is not an upgrade that will up the re-sale value of that
      particular machine.

      The MM211 has pretty much killed the DVI since it offers the 120v/240v also and in a much more portable package.

      ( Hobart & Lincoln now offers similar machines that are Dual voltage)

      Probably 5-6 hundred bucks.

      ...but CL is strange so put it up for $800.00 and see what happens.

        $800.00 is fair market value. Mine has been trouble free since I have had it new 7 years now. I think e-bay is the way to sell.

          Thank you both for your input!

          I wasn't too far off in the price I was considering asking for it.

          As you stated Broccolui, the 211 offers the same features in a smaller package. That's pretty much why I'm considering selling it.
          With the dual cylinder rack, it is more cumbersome to move around and makes it less "portable" even though I can load the unit into the bed of my dually by myself, (With ramps! of course.)

                  No. They were less at the LWS when new....

                  Mine is the older, original DVI unit and IMO, it's in cleaner shape than the one shown.
