  • Spatter at the Aluminun MIG welding

    Hi Friends.

I have a Millermatic 212 with spoolmatic. All welding show a spatter and smoke around the weld. I tried with different parameters and the result it same. How can I to do for eliminate these problems?
    Thanks.

You'll have to list YOUR parameters because we can't read minds.

If the wire is coming out and the gas is good it usually is the Contact Tip to Work Distance

I don't worry about the black stuff. Its impossible to get perfect welds with the repair work i do...Bob

Be sure that you are pushing the weld. The black smoke will always be there. It will be IN the bead if you pull. It will come off with a wire brush.

          1. Type of gas for coverage? You should be using Argon for aluminum.
          2. Polarity?
          3. Stickout?
          4. Push or pull?
