hey guys im pretty new to the site, like every body else im trying to obtain a little info and maybe be able to give a little..question is -- anybody tell me the settings for that gun to the 302 on lets say 4043 alum wire on 1/4 inch stuff.

Say if your running 035" wire then 7 on your gun and 23 volts on the machine

045" 3- 5 on the gun and 26 volts on the machine

Don't think your going to get a satisfactory result running stainless off that machine,

For one thing your going to need a Stainshield mix and the settings are reasonably close to the supplied. If you run straight Argon off the 302, the weld will just be a mess.

Please confirm this for me,,,,, You just spent $5000 + for equipment, and you are not capable of running test pieces, to get your settings correct?????
            Obviously, I'm just a hack-artist, you shouldn't be listening to anything I say .....

There are some wires that you can switch in the machine to change the GMAW arc to better suit stainless or aluminum... but if you don't know how to figure out the settings yet maybe your not ready to mess with wires inside the machine.

Take a look at this MIG (Solid Core) Welding Calculator.

Plug in what your doing and it will give you a stetup.

                  Enjoy.

This and to figure out inch/minute, set your gun on a number, hit the trigger for 1 second, measure that amount in inches and multiply by 60. That'll give you a good guesstimation to go by.
