One option you have for smaller pipes and tubes is the straight-o-flex made by RB Wagner. If you google it it will show up. I have used it and it is an awesome tool. Its great for pre-bending tubing and pipe for welding so that its straight when the weld is complete rather than looking like a bridge truss. Its also great for straightening small kinks in tubing, pipe, and handrail caps. Im not sure of its capacity but its decent. The other option is to make you own. I have seen one on a web site from someone in the Seattle area here is the link:

This guy has a whole bunch of useful homemade tools. Necessity is the mother of invention. If you were referring to 2" pipe and larger well I got no ideas for that except heat and cool. Good luck!sigpicIf you don't expect anything you wont be disappointed.

On really small stuff, I've used alligator clips and a short section of wire to the work clamp. Maybe 12 gauge wire max. I think I have a new tool in the arsenal. I suspect it might work on aluminum as well.Con Fuse!
