The wire stays hot, like the old scratch start of years past.
Good Luck,

well, to buy a pep boys or autozone welder is asking for a problem to begin with...lol.... just my opinion
You got that right
I wonder if Harbor Freight sold these as well, under their own junk Chicago Electric name. I know a guy that has a Harbor Freight welder that does the same thing
i received a political email, it started out reminding us of how good things used to be years back, and i wont bore you guys with the rest of it except for the message the sender was trying to get across, bassically the usa is screwed if we keep going on this path to china. go to any hardware stores, most stuff is made in china, every thing we buy today is made in china, the email that i received said there is an alternative to this, buy american made, little by little we can take back our own country by looking at the labels to see where it is made, there are items that are on the shelves that are american made, sorry for getting off topic, but the 9000 welders sold in the usa were not built here by american labor, to me that is troubling. these people should ask for a refund and then go buy blue, ( or even red) kevin
All of the small MIG welders of that size that I have seen over the last 20 years from HF... both chinese and the earlier italian.. were.. "ALWAYS HOT" .. they had no contactor at all... so this discovery is no great surprise.... as were the Campbell-Hausfeld and many others... this sounds like a labeling problem ....
hope this helps
Heiti
BTW.. this applies to both fluxcore and gas machines that I have seen...

I've said it before, but I 'll say it again. I have respect for a quality product, no matter the name or where it is made. So far I have not found anything that was made in China to be a quality product. There are imported welders from European countries that are well made. My money still goes to Miller as their products have always performed better than advertised and have stood the test of time for me.
