I have the Hypertherm Powermax 380, which is practicaly the same machine as the Spectrum 375 (non-xtreme model). I have been very happy with it. It works great within it's design capabilities. I've cut 1/2" with it easily, though not all that fast. The more air I give it, the better it cuts.

Like mine but if I were to purchase another one I'd get one that has a torch you can disconnect. I think Thermal Dynamics has a unit similar in capacity to the 375 with disconnects for a few pennies less. Make sure you have a good water filter like a Motor Guard.

            Plasma Cutting choice

The 375 is a good machine for up to 3/8" mild steel. It is light and portable with a 120V or 230V input.

For a hundred bucks or so upgrade to the 375 X-treme for a little more cutting speed.

If you need to cut 1/2" plate or 5/8" plate upgrade to a 625 X-treme for a few hundred bucks.

My next plasma will be the Hypertherm Powermax 45. It is still small and easily portable and has greater capacity than the Spectrum 625. It falls between the Spectrum 625 and 875 in both price and capacity and is about the same size as the 875. The Powermax 45 has a quick release torch, as does the Spectrum 875, I believe.
