protecting your pocket phone

I was wondering how you guys are protecting your pocket phone, smart phone or your I phone from the daily hazzards of welding grinding manufacuring and just plain having an expensive phone on your pocket?

I have an Otter Box brand cover for my iphone. works pretty good for sparks and impact.

i keep mine right on the welding table,, it still works,, HF dont hurt it.

Plus one for the Otterbox brand cases. I have a defender for my blackberry and it is almost indestructible. i just wish that they would design a very ruggedized Iphone or Blackberry without having to buy a cases afterwards. They are worth the money or the alternative of replacing the smartphones.

I keep mine sometimes in a plastic zip-lock bag if i have it out when doing grinding and stuff.

Have had problems in the past with fine metal dust attaching itself to the internal speakers and after a while they go real quiet/hard to hear.

Hi all ,first post .Bought my first welder and hope to learn a bit.

Although i havn't/don't do a lot of welding, i am pretty rough on phones esp. at work in the const.trades and have gone through my share of them ,hip pocket,back pocket,chest pocket,jacket pocket.

I normally wear carpenter style pants/jeans/denim and have gotten in the habit of puting it in my right mid leg pocket. I havn't ruined another phone yet. Although this pocket probabley won't fit all pda style phones, it has fit my normall size ones.

Deffinately keep them away from dust and metal shavings. And try and be smart by blowing them out with an air blower, don't ask how I know....

I keep my phone in the toolbox while I'm at work. I also turn it off because being in the box with the lid closed kills the battery pretty fast.

I leave it in the truck cradle I also use a hands-free speaker/mike (Blue Ant) on the visor
