I think I'll try the 20' gun, thanks. Not really interested in a swing arc setup, but thanks for the thought.

We had a 20' Bernard gun on a MM200 when i was a sheetmetal worker for reaching up high on big projects. It worked fine...Bob

started a topic 20' QGun on Millermatic shop mig?

20' QGun on Millermatic shop mig?

I'm thinking of putting a 20' or maybe even 25' Bernard Q300 on my Millermatic 350P for a little more reach than the 15' gun provides and getting rid of my Reach feeder that I don't like using. I have a 25' Python, but I don't want to run steel wire in my Python, it wears out the teflon liner and I feel it contaminates the aluminum wire switching back to aluminum after using steel in it.

I've had great success running 15' QGuns in place of stock 10' Miller guns on my Passport and MM175 so I was thinking of trying a 20' gun on the 350P. With 4 geared drive rolls, I'm thinking the 350P should certainly be able to push the wire the extra distance.

I use the machine mostly with solid mig wire .035 and .045, with the proper sized liner for the wire diameter, meaning I don't run .035 wire in the .045 liner, I use an .035 liner instead. It works great this way with the 15' gun.

Has anyone used a 20' or more QGun on their Millermatic shop mig? If so, how did it work? I think Bernard sells them up to 25' long.
Working...
