  • Syncrowave 300

I am thinking about purchasing a used Syncrowave 300 and was wanting some input as to is it a good machine? I have a square-wave 175 Lincoln which I really like but want more power.
Any one own one and what do you think of it?
    Thanks,
    David

I've not run a 300 but have extensively used a sync 250 & they are great although they use lots of power. Make sure you have enough power to run it. A 250 needs 100 amps of 230v to run at capacity.

All depends on what the cost is. They are a good, fully solid state TIG machine but never gained near the popularity the 250 did.

It's a heavy machine, around 800# give or take & you'll need 100 amps+ to run it at full power.

If you are getting it for under $1000 complete, in good shape & ready to work, good deal. If they want more....

In this market, hold out for something better. Too many good deals out there to pay top tier for a used machine.

      IMHO of course.
So you're telling me...You're not nostalgic? Then, give me another word for it......

I have one of these welders. It is all the welder you will ever need(tig). From 5 amps to 300A it runs perfect. Has factory pulse and is great on aluminum. They are transformer machines, so they draw a lot of power, and it does weigh 700lbs or so.

The synchrowaves are great machines, The new inverters like the Dynasty just makes it a little easier. But both machines basically do the same.

Thanks for the replys guys. I have a chance to purchase it for 700 without any torch or leads. I have a nice water cooled torch and plenty of leads. Also I have 200 amps available to the garage.
I would like the 300 amps possible.
            Thanks,
            David
