cool. i have used the hammer and end of the table trick a lot, but sometimes one part flies and cant find it, or it will break uneven.
i will try to score it on a grinder and then break.

Wack it with a hammer on a metal 90 edge of your work bench.
That will work no doubt about it but you run the chance of seperating the strands some, this can cause arc wander untill you sharpen your way out of the affected area. This can sometimes take 5-6 sharpenings.
YMMV of course but I just wanted to let you know what was happening there. You may have allready experienced this by not breaking it clean and taking another shot at it and then sharpening the fuzz. (go on, ask me how I know all this ;-)

Use the hammer and edge of the table but wrap it in a rag or put it in an old glove. I ont use the gloves I ware I saw a guy do that once and end up with tungston in his finger. -Kirk-

you can buy a diamond wheel for a dremel or die grinder for very little money. you could also scavenge from a cheap used tile saw. If your a little patient, you can use the diamond wheel in a drill. Checkout ebay.

I was just reading on this forum in resources that Miller recommends breaking the tungsten over an edge to cut it. I've read that this is not the best way to do it because it can splinter and cause stress cracks. Hmmmm
