I am new to MIG and would like to know, aside from the obvious waste of gas if the flow is set too high, will it affect the quality of my weld's ???

Yes as it can cause turbulence and suck in atmosphere-which you are trying to avoid by using the shielding gas in the first placeEd Conley

ADVISE or maybe "ADVICE"??
"ADVICE" is how it is spelled, NOT "advise". My apologies if you are just learning to speak and/or write English, but being literate and also fluent in the language will help you out greatly, so work on it!Don J

You know, I almost replied in a similar way to dondlhmn, but a while back (when threatened with expulsion from this board for my thoughts) I agreed to keep my comments to welding so I have no comment on this. I guess that you can say that I took the advise of the moderator on this one.Jim

I read somewhere (on the internet) that the only thing worse than an internet gaffe or grammatical error was publicly admonishing someone for it.
