  • "Need Advise"

I am new to MIG and would like to know, aside from the obvious waste of gas if the flow is set too high, will it affect the quality of my weld's ???

  • #2
Yes as it can cause turbulence and suck in atmosphere-which you are trying to avoid by using the shielding gas in the first place

      ADVISE or maybe "ADVICE"??

"ADVICE" is how it is spelled, NOT "advise". My apologies if you are just learning to speak and/or write English, but being literate and also fluent in the language will help you out greatly, so work on it!

Pontificating about the lack of proper English, and or spelling, in a forum such as this, is rather rude, to say the least. I understand the dilemma involved when someone who thinks they have a high intelligence talks down to a poster, but, it merely shows how IGNORANT, they, themselves are.

That being said, spell check is a wonderful thing, lol

You know, I almost replied in a similar way to dondlhmn, but a while back (when threatened with expulsion from this board for my thoughts) I agreed to keep my comments to welding so I have no comment on this. I guess that you can say that I took the advise of the moderator on this one.

I read somewhere (on the internet) that the only thing worse than an internet gaffe or grammatical error was publicly admonishing someone for it.

I just reread my post from last night and it could be interpreted to say that I agree with dondlhmn. I do not. I should have worded it differently so that it's clear that I was replying to the post just prior to mine by bfootn and agreeing with it.
