  • Miller 211......PULSE??

Anyone hear any gossip as to when the smaller size 220v (Millermatic® 211 Auto-Set) coming out with the pulse mode.........like the 350P

    Not in my lifetime.

The pulse feature found on the MM350P applies to "pulsed spray arc transfer".

Since the MM211 (and similar units) are short arc machines, you're not likely to see pulse on them any time soon.

Do you even understand what pulse is on the MM350P?

      I haven't heard of any.

You can add pulse to any mig machine with an MK Pulse+ pulser that connects on the hot and neg outputs. I have a few of these that we used to use on old CP250 mig power sources in the 80's. These haven't been made for quite a few years and I don't know of any other pulsers that simply connect on the +/- outputs. Most connect on the 14-pin remote control connector on higher end mig power sources, like the Miller Optima pulser, made to work with XMT, Invision and Pipe Pro machines.

Kinda need to bypass the CV capacitors and optimally pulse a set of IGBT's to which the 211 and others use a transistor, SCR's, or diodes. The units that used to attach to the CP units used kind of a on/off relay. Didn't pulse very fast, and wasn't really a true pulse anyways.

The Pulse+ units I have run 60Hz from seperate 115v power and have 2 controls, on-time and off-time. They worked good for us for several years before we upgraded to 350P's.
