I am strongly considering a Millermatic 211. My question is most of the time this will be a shop machine, but if I need to go portable, can I plug this into my Trailblazer and have it function correctly?
It would require an adapter to connect the Millermatic plug to the Trailblazer. I would think an electrician could do that fairly quickly.

Copperdog: Welcome to the Forum! Yes, your Trailblazer will run your new MM 211 just fine.

You'll need a NEMA 14-50P to NEMA 6-50R adapter cord made up.

You can buy them "ready made," or make one yourself.

Cyberweld has item # PC83ADAPT for $70.00

RAM has them for around $53.00 and is 4' long.

The MM 211 has received very favorable reviews. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.

Yep, exactly what Dave said.

Your Trailblazer will run the 211 on both 220v and on 110v. You can plug it straight into the Trailblazer on 110v without making an adpator cord, since the MVP plug the 211 comes with has a NEMA 5-15P 110v plug included in the package. I run my Passport from my Bobcat on both 220v and 110v. I use it on 220v if I know I'll be cranking it up, otherwise I use it on 110v when I know I won't be welding anything above 1/8".

Dave was right on the money with his answer. Whether you are plugging into a generator or wall power the main thing with the Millermatic 211 is to always use the appropriate MVP plug for the voltage you are applying and never modify the power cord. This unit is not auto-line so having the 115 volt plug on the end of the cord and applying 230 volts would damage the unit.
