  • Miller's origin

Are all of the Miller's welding machines and components made in USA, or is there also a production in China ?.....just wondering??

All our products sold in the USA are made in the USA.

We do have a facility in Italy that makes a few machines for the European market.

Most of the product in our international markets are also built in the USA.

    Thanks for the question.

Yeah I think the Spoolmate series spool guns are an import product. I see them sold under a few trade names besides Miller.

            What IS MADE IN USA??

I would be fairly certain that many more components like resistors, transistors and that sort of stuff is all made overseas.
But BUILT is diferrent in my mind. If I put together a whole pile of stuff like that in my home I would consider it made here no matter where all the individual little pieces came from.
But I consider the [email protected]$$ little spoolguns another matter altogether.
They have about all the quality of a sqirt gun IMO...and the price reflects that as well as the duty cycle. Miller should be assembling them also IMO...unless they are??

I think my 185 spoolgun (3035) is great, well it is since i re did the barrel so it takes the standard miller mig gun tip. Up until then i didn't think too much of it but its great now. Makes me lots of money with both alum and steel wire...Bob

Is that lately, as I've seen the made in India and made in China stamps in yours and Lincoln's machines. Whats neat is that your mechandise Miller knives have a big made in China sticker, naturally the first thing before the Miller decal you see is that darn sticker.

Don't forget our Miller hats too.

While it's true that there are parts of the machine like a drive motor or fan motor... made in other countries, that % is small and has to be under a Federal guideline in order for us to state the "Made in the USA"
NONE of our machines will say Made in China, India....

Where all the Miller promotional stuff comes from is anyones guess.

Can't be competitive with all parts originating from the states. I've seen welding wire with the box clearly stating" Made in the USA", however the wire compliance sticker clearly stating its origin to be South Korea. Guess the box was made in the USA......

Anyways no machine manufacturer that I've found is 100% American made, from control boards, to plastic injection pieces to drive motors and such.

I get items manufacturered there as well to keep market value, and consequently make more $$.
