  • Best online supplier for flap wheels

Being new to aluminum have had many questions. Frank Motoweld recommends Walter flap wheels and being located in NW Wisconsin, I can't find a local supplier. Closest welding supply store is 65 miles and I need to get a good supplier of welding products. Wondering if anyone could provide a reliable supplier for both 4 1/2" and small die grinder size flap disks and flap wheels. Like FusionKing has told me, much more time in the grinding than in the welding. Spent most of my time plugging my metal grinding wheels. Have die grinder bits and they don't plug but hard to control the final results. Looking for Walter 15-L453, 06-F456, and 06-F458. I did locate several internet sites that sell these products but never heard of the companies. Any suggestions appreciated.

Dynasty 350 - My New Baby
Millermatic 210 Mig with Spoolmate 3035
Miller Thunderbolt XL 225/150 AC/DC Stick Welder
    Miller Specturm 625 Plasma Cutter
    Speedglas 9100 auto dark helmet
    Jackson auto dark helmet
    18.5 CFM Eagle Compressor
    Oxy/Act
    Horizontal Band Saw
    Dewalt 14" Chop Saw
    7 1/2 Dewalt Angle Grinder
    4 - 4 1/2" Sears Angle Grinders
    1 - 4" Makita Angle Grinder
    2 - IR Die Grinders
All of which my wife says will be a "he$$ of a garage sale"

this is where i get my flap wheels from, fairly cheap and work really well, i suggest getting the zirconiated discs though, i bought aluminum oxide from him, and they wear out quicker of course. a pack of 10 zirconiated, 4.5" flap wheels for $19.99 with shipping. or you can send him a best offer, so possible you can get it for $18 shipped and save $2.

I have tried a lt of dfiferent flap wheels because I thought the Walters was getting to expensive. Well long story short I went back to the Walters I get mine from Oxygen Service in St. Paul, a phone call and the order is boxed up and in the UPS truck.

I know its not the brand you are looking for, but I use lehigh valley flap discs. The red ones (ceramic grain) are a waste of the extra money for plain mild steel. They might be ok for SS, but they dont last as long on MS. I like the cheaper blue/green (zirconia grain). They are the cheapest discs that I have found, and they last longer that the $7 dewalt flap discs at lowes. I order them in bulk and they last a long time. I am very impressed with them. I see them now have a "jumbo" disc that has double the flaps. You might want to try some of these. I have also had good luck with the company (prompt shipping, nice and courteous people, etc...).

In a pinch the ones at Wally World would beat nothing.
