  • Capacitors leaking

I've got an old miller 300amp AC/DC Tig welder. Both HF capacitors are leaking, I read somewhere that this is not unusual. At what point should I get concerned and replace them? They are not cheap...
    Thanks for any reponses.

I have an old miller hf unit that has leaking capacitors, this thing is 30 some years old or more, it still works perfectly though. I have wondered about this problem as to what and when to do something about it, this topic will be of interest to me as well.

Leaking is one thing, that tends to happen with age, its when that pressure release plastic valve pierces, then they have to be replaced as an assembly.

Might as well do them now, rather than later

do them now, if they are leaking then they do not meet the specs printed on the can. I'd guess the machine in not operating at 100%, even if it seems fine.
