Welder opinions for a home shop

I just love burning wire. I may not be all that good at it, but I sure do like it. Kinda like the smell of your baby girl's hair, smelling a diesel engine on a cold morning or hearing a coyote howl in the brush - just soothes the soul....

I got a girl who loves the smell of diesel just as much as me. Every time we talk about Diesel trucks or tractors she just get all excited.

The worst smelling rod that I've used is 308-15 . Those rods have lime in the flux composition.
