  • New dynasty 200dx?

Hi I plan on ordering a new dynasty through my local. They get direct from miller (it will be sent to my LWS) I was just wondering if there is any chance of getting the old Dynasty 200dx, or is it fairly safe to assume it is going to be the new one?

Verify the Miller part number of the machine you want to order before money changes hands.

If your LWS don't have one at another store you will get the new one. When I got mine last week I pulled the cover off it to replace the factory cord with a longer one, and noticed a sticker in there that said 03/05/09... thats pretty new.

Ya that would be new enough that its the new model. This is in Canada not that is should make much of a difference. But the price is supposed to be heavily discounted (getting a price next week) I just didnt want it to get here and be like oh. . . its the old version I dont want it.

Verify the part number? or the serial number? I didnt know that there is a different part number.

Don't they have a model just for CA? I seen something about it in the manual.

Making you suspicious how? it was posted above to check the part number before money exchanges hands. All serial numbers past lj280222l are the new ones.

I found it. It's called the "CE" model, and has some Canadian standards approval (like our UL listing)

ok so my next question would then be does the serial number apply to the canadian models as well?

Suspicious that they are going to attempt to sell you an older one when you use the term "heavily discounted"...there could be plenty of older stock out there...that is how I got my 700...but I knew that at the time.
It happens and it has happened to members of this board. just sorta supporting the idea of you being a good buyer and not getting stuck with a machine you do not want.
When I bought my latest 200DX I had them verify the exact serial # they were shipping.

I knew nothing of the "new firmware" improvements to my Dynasty until 1 week after I purchased it and was searching the threads on this forum.

I went to the resourses and found the serial number change/sequence and verified mine to be "new".

If it were me I would imediately write a letter to the LWS and tell them you will "only" accept a Dynasty that has the updated firmware and that you would like "confirmation" prior to obligating your purchase. Likely a non event.

Get a 2009 Miller catalog (or look it up on this site) and you will see there are usually several part numbers for a given machine. The various part numbers represent different accessory packages and different voltage setups and probably something else I'm forgetting.

Just looked up the Dynasty 200 on this site. Literature shows five stock numbers ( Miller uses stock numbers instead of part numbers) for the Dynasty 200.
