griff he needs to verify the serial # not the stock #.
The 2008 and 2009 stock #'s are identical but the 2009 has the new AC waveforms as well as the new Blue lightning high frequency starting.
Like you said all the stock # does is indicate a change in the overall package. Example: 907 099 is the SD model while the 907 099-01-1 is the DX model

Verify the part number? or the serial number? I didnt know that there is a different part number.

P.s.
Just looked up the Dynasty 200 on this site. Literature shows five stock numbers ( Miller uses stock numbers instead of part numbers) for the Dynasty 200.

I knew nothing of the "new firmware" improvements to my Dynasty until 1 week after I purchased it and was searching the threads on this forum.
I went to the resourses and found the serial number change/sequence and verified mine to be "new".
If it were me I would imediately write a letter to the LWS and tell them you will "only" accept a Dynasty that has the updated firmware and that you would like "confirmation" prior to obligating your purchase. Likely a non event.

It happens and it has happened to members of this board. just sorta supporting the idea of you being a good buyer and not getting stuck with a machine you do not want.
When I bought my latest 200DX I had them verify the exact serial # they were shipping.

If your LWS don't have one at another store you will get the new one. When I got mine last week I pulled the cover off it to replace the factory cord with a longer one, and noticed a sticker in there that said 03/05/09... thats pretty new.
