My first question is are you using an autodarken helmet that might be flipping out?
Second, when it goes "bright" does it burn a hole in ehat you are welding or does the weld bead get real large?

      "Bright Lights?"

Hey Bamacpl: You got it all up and running, Eh?

Are you using an auto-shade hood? Just wondering if the timing is set right, or the batteries might be low in it. Try a conventional hood first, then we'll go from there.

I guess Andy and I were writing at the same time.

yes, I am using a solar powered auto-darkening hood......I bet thats the problem

It doesn/t burn through or seem to get any hotter!

Thanks for the help guys! I'm sure that is it! I am in utah & there is not much sunlight in the winter!

Dave, Yeah man, got it all going! I love it. Just trying out different cups, collet bodies, gas lens etc.... I like the lift arc, I am used to scratch starting both seem to do ok !

Bamacpl: Glad you got 'er going and you like it. That's quite a machine. Have you tried the "stick" side of it?

Good luck, keep us posted of your progress

That's great! Seriously, if the guys in Phoenix could or would match on-line prices, I certainly don't have a problem buying locally. Of all the equipment I've purchased, none of them could or would match Cyberweld or Ram.

If you'd like, you can go up to the left side of the page (User CP) and add your location. It shows up on all your posts, where mine says Colorado.

in the first pic, you've got massive undercutting on the side.. in the third, your weld bead shouldn't be below the plane of the tube.
