Buying used... what to look for?

hey everyone happy holidays!
i found a millermatic 210 for sale locally on craigslist. do i just run some beads with it and see if it still runs nice? what else should i look at and consider if i should purchase it? thanks

Sure. Run some beads. Look at the overall condition of the unit. Does it look abused? Take a look at the drive roller compartment. Is it full of metal pieces like the rollers have been tightened too tight? Check the serial number. Typically you can get the units age from the SN. Does the wire spool off smoothly? If not, try to adjust it. GIve it a good test drive welding thick to thin.
