Not sure if this has been mentioned already, I wasn't able to read every page in this thread.

I have the same issue, my fingers go numb, my forearm goes tingly, my wrist etc. Sometimes my hand seems swollen.

It gets really bad when I have to use the grinder all day long. Anyhow, here is what I use, it does not FIX the problem but it helps.

I take Ibuprofen before I go to work about 800mg of Advil. At night before I go to bed I use this roll-on application called Stop-Pain or Bio-Freeze. Bio-Freeze has to be purchased at the Chiropractor and Stop-Pain can be bought at the local health store. They both make the area it has been applied to feel like it's being iced, this is good for the inflamed area. I also apply this before I go to work. It's pretty strong stuff, the vapor will make your eyes water if held in the area of your face, so be sure to wash your hands if you touch it before you rub your eyes or something.

This stuff works great. If it has been mentioned before, my bad, disregard my advice, if not, check into it.

The Chiropractor is the next step, although I am very skeptical of Chiropractors, I may need to go for it and give them a chance... I've heard good and bad.

      Best Regards,

Ice is always good. use a bowl and add ice and water, soak for 15 minutes or so, then take it out for an equal time then back in for another 15. As a powerlifter, my joints, muscles, tendons etc. take a helluva beating. One thing I have found is A.R.T. Best was I can describe it is aggressive deep tissue massage. It was explained to me that when the tendons get inflammed they swell and get caught up with the surrounding tissue causing a "binding" with pain/ discomfort being the end result. With A.R.T. the, provider will massage the area while haveing you move the bodypart in a range of motion breaking up scar tissue and getting the tendons back into place. It isn't pleasant feeling at the time and I have left bruised but the end result is worth it. I was in Orlando for work and decided to do a bench press meet at the gym i was training at. The Saturday before the meet, I couldn't move 405#, the pain was so bad, my arms would just shut down. This was after taking 800mg advil before training as well. I went and had an hour of A.R.T. done on Tuesday and benched my first 500# bench press 4 days later. I would highly recommend looking into it before surgery as that is pretty drastic.

            hello guys.

went to the doctor today, and she said i have tendonitus. not carpel tunnel syndrome, yet.
gave me a shot with pain reliever and cortizone, prescribed me some 800mg ibuprofen, and said to wear a wrist spint while welding and grinding.

she also told me to buy a wrist cocked up splint, (sounds funny), to hold my wrist in the neutral position while sleeping. she said when one sleeps, your wrists tend to bend downward, which is not good.
if after 3-4 weeks nothing has improved, then i will have to see a orthopedist. . she thinks i caught it in time, since there is no pain while at work, so hopefully i did. just hope wearing the splint while working is not too cumbersome.

she also had me bend both wrists at 90 degree down angles, hold the bent wrists together at my chin, and hold them there for 30 seconds. she said if my hand and wrist would have went numb, then that would have shown signs of carpel trouble. my hands and wrists felt fine, so that is why she thinks tendonitus.

anyway, i will wear the night wrist splint while sleeeping, and wear the other type while working, and see what happens in 3-4 weeks.

thanks so much for all of your help.

i would still pay a visit to a massage therapist. I have trigger points that screw up my hands and elbows. Basically a knotted section of muscle that is always putting tension on the muscles and sometimes pressure on nerves. You'll never know they are there until the therapist puts pressure on them and you scream! It can aggrevate tendonitis. Give it a try for an hour, hands ,wrists, arms, shoulders and neck. Worst case, you feel more relaxed and don't go back.

If my hand was getting numb, I would probably visit a massage parlor.

I'm sure the pain bothered you and of course the thought of carpel tunnel isn't pleasant. But it's only tendonitis and you're on your way for a massage.

Nice to know your thread has a happy ending!
