A couple more days of this big project, and some money coming and I may be able to find a better solution. Lol.
Yes, that's a 300cf tank strapped to the railing.

I think I'd mow the "shop" if I was you. Grass carpet looks a bit tall and dry for running the chopsaw. Or are you the one who starts all those infamous California wild fires? Looks better than my driveway when I try and work though.
Yeah. Need to mow - using the chop saw does make me a tad nervous.

Been there, done that, got older and built a shop. You can still do good work roughing it but setup and take down gets old.
I'd mow the shop floor before getting the O/A out for some cutting.
Luckily for my setup and unluckily for me, I don't have O/A or a plasma cutter. The only thing throwing sparks are the dry cut and the grinder.
I am having problems with take down. If I'm going to the hardware store on the corner then I leave everything out, but anywhere else I need to put it all back in the garage, which means disconnecting the 300cf cylinder. And of course everything needs to go in at night. Looks like it rained last night and everything got wet (it doesn't rain here). Grr.
Depending on what we decide to do in the next couple years, I'm either going to knock out the back wall of the garage and extend it 10' or build a new shop at another house (or find a house with a two-car garage). There may also be an opportunity to get another industrial space. (sigh)

Actually this is a bit of a problem. My wife wants to get started on the landscaping soon and there are so many metal shavings from the saw I'm thinking I'm going to have to vacuum them up.

Can you have your wife take pics of you vacuuming the dirt. I think it would make for some funny pics. I almost always weld out side. Hopefully moving soon to a house with a 2 car garage that I will make much larger and start my business.

If we decide to stay, I will tear down the garage and put up something big enough to actually drive a car into (our house and garage were built in 1924).

I have a 2 car attached, and a 24x35 detached and we still can't get a car into either of them.
The two i beams on the floor for the bridge crane are mostly to blame, but I'm hoping to have those up this week. Then I get to work on finishing the insulation and sheetrock in the mrs' garage.

I'm with ya fishy! I have a 2.5 car garage and I can move the generator, welder, cherry picker and 2 rolling tool boxes out; and I can fit a car in the garage.
Looking for a bigger house(Garage) with a descent building code so I can put a pole barn up in back. Wife hates listening to the compressor and grinder.
Tassel; you can have some of our rain/snow melt-off. but then you won't find your shop!
